The Colour Television Receiver Film
Back in
1967 when colour television was launched in the UK,
it wasn't possible to drop into your local 'out-of-town' superstore and buy
a colour tv and take it home yourself,
it had to be installed, and it could be quite a complicated process.
So, the
BBC and BREMA got together and made
the Colour Television Receiver Film, also known as the Colour Receiver Installation
Film
The purpose
of the film was to give retailers an idea of how a colour tv should be installed.
The film was transmitted several times a day on BBC 2 during trade tests.
It was also shown on BBC 1 UHF during the trade tests for colour in late 1969
You can find out more about when it was transmitted from Webfax
