Radio London started broadcasting
on 23rd December 1964 from the MV Galaxy
anchored in the North Sea, off the Essex coast. The station's Top 40 format
rapidly became very popular with listeners of all ages.
The station closed on the 14th August 1967 with the introduction of
the Marine Offences Act.
Radio London changed British broadcasting forever.
The full story of Radio
London has been told many times, so I won't repeat it here,
but there are a number of websites
that feature the history of the station.
The sound files below give an idea of how the station sounded.
